Oasis Land Development help raise £5,150 for charity crawling in fish guts
Oasis Land Development and our team members handed over the sponsorship money we raised, through taking part in the Xtreme Storm Challenge in Southport, in an official charity cheque presentation.
Charity representatives Carolyn Lowry from Queenscourt Hospice Southport and Lynn Taylor from Claire House Children’s Hospice visited our head office in England to collect a charity cheque totalling £2,575 each charity. The cheques were handed over by Oasis Land Development.
Oasis Land Development and their partner team, including company owner John Ball raised an astonishing £5,150 in total and are so grateful to everyone who kindly sponsored Oasis and came to support us on the day. The Xtreme Storm Challenge was a gruelling 18km course with 35 Xtreme obstacles, built by ex-UK Forces. It took place earlier this year on the 20th April and involved crawling through fish-guts under barbed wire, swimming in the ice-cold marina to the island, running through a hall of mirrors, crawling over hay-bales as well as much more. Every obstacle and ounce of pain was worth it knowing that we were raising money for two local causes. We are so pleased to have raised such an incredible amount; thanks to everyone who sponsored us.
Claire House Children’s Hospice is a ten-bed hospice located on the Wirral. It provides respite, end-of-life and bereavement care for children and young adults with complex medical needs, up to the age of 23. They also support whole families, providing support and counselling for as long as needed and have a specialist nursing team who work in the community through a hospice to home scheme, offering care and support in the family home.
Queenscourt Hospice is a local charity that provides support for the people of Southport, Formby and West Lancs. They care for patients with serious illnesses, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life at each new stage. They do this both in the Hospice and at Home through their in-patient unit, Queenscourt Connect and Queenscourt at Home services.
