Cayman Brac Sees 20% Increase in Air Arrivals

Upgrades to the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport in Cayman Brac are paying off with increased air arrivals.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Tourism Moses Kirkconnell told Cayman 27 the Brac has seen a 20% jump in arrivals from a year ago.

He said the increase in visitors has been good news for Brac Reef Resort, which is starting renovations, and for private villa owners too.

“The fact that the arrivals are up 20 percent, that shows you that they’re finding rooms, and what has happened is that private villas on Cayman Brac have become very popular. The owners of the private villas are very happy with the success they’ve been having as far as arrivals,” said Mr. Kirkconnell.

He told Cayman 27 the airport infrastructure could pave the way for more rooms to come online in the Brac.
