Best places to celebrate Christmas in the Caribbean

If your dreams of a “White Christmas” are paved with white sand rather than white snow, and you prefer ice in a cocktail, rather than on your car. Then the Caribbean is your ticket to fulfilling your, warm holiday wishes.

People think that because you leave the season behind you aren’t able to celebrate the same way, they are wrong. Caribbean islands are decked with seasonal goodies, the same as anywhere else. Santa still visits all the Caribbean Islands and the warm seasonal feel is felt everywhere, the only difference is, it’s actually warm!

The Tucson Citizen Website recently announced their “Best places to celebrate Christmas in the Caribbean” put the Cayman Islands number one, on their list.

Camana Bay on Grand Cayman was mentioned in their newsletter, a 500 acre development which has a jam-packed calendar of fun around the festive period.  A large Christmas tree, Santa’s workshop, where children can visit and have their picture taken with Santa. Parents can check their kids into Camana Bay Starfish Village for two hours of supervised arts and crafts while they sneak off for some adult time. Christmas movies play outdoors under the stars once a week.

When visiting the Cayman Islands in December, houses are as brightly decorated as anywhere else, there are festive roundabouts which are decorated with lights and baubles throughout the island.

So, if you fancy heading to the Cayman Islands this winter, and want to enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner, here are some great places you can eat!

Calico Jack’s are starting the Christmas celebrations early with a DJ and party on Christmas Eve. You can celebrate the coming Christmas Day under the stars at this popular beach venue where shoes are optional.

From England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales? Fidel Murphy’s on the famous Seven Mile Strip serves up traditional British roast dinner with all the trimmings. You will also feel like home with beer on tap, including chilled Guinness.

The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman holds its traditional brunch in the ballroom, and Seven restaurant, where the champagne flows freely and the food is exceptional.
