The plans to redevelop Cayman Islands airports have moved closer on Monday 3rd February

The plans to redevelop Cayman Islands airports have moved closer on Monday 3rd February. The Airport Authority signed a contract with accountants PricewaterhouseCooper in order to access the costs, planning and environmental impact of building new airport facilities.

As well as Owen Roberts International Airport on Grand Catman, the study will also look at the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport on Cayman Brac and Edward Bodden Airfield on Little Cayman.

Tourism Minister Hon. Moses Kirkconnell said: “It is imperative that swift action is taken to improve infrastructure, eliminate the overcrowding and provide a much more comfortable and convenient experience for travelers.”

PwC is expected to deliver its recommendation to government in April.
