Signature July Update

In July 2021 the Cayman Islands Premier, Wayne Panton unveiled a five-phase reopening plan for Cayman’s borders that could see a limited return of tourism by September 2021 and a full easing of restrictions for vaccinated travelers and their children by mid-November 2021.

The Cayman Islands has one of the highest vaccination rates in the Caribbean, and there have been no reports of community transmission of COVID-19 since last year (2020).

The Minister of Tourism Minister Kenneth Bryan said, from the 9 September 2021, when the Cayman Islands tests a soft reopening of its borders for commercial flights, at this time, British Airways plans to resume its “regular flight schedule” between London and Grand Cayman.

Furthermore, demand for property on Little Cayman and Cayman Brac has boomed since the pandemic. Sales started to increase in the second half of 2020 but really rocketed in the second quarter of 2021, coinciding with a rise in staycation traffic. Most of the interest had not been from developers but from local buyers who were drawn to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that the sister islands have to offer.

All electrical and telecoms trenches have been backfilled. The lake excavation and edge dressing is fully complete, the next step is to complete the asphalt roads.
