FLOW Fibre build continues in Cayman Brac
In May of 2021, Flow announced their commitment to ensure that every home in the Cayman Islands has access to fibre connection. This access to fibre will allow every home, to be a high-speed home; receiving broadband speeds that are 100 times faster than what is currently available. Since this announcement, the team has increased the number of technicians and resources, to achieve their goal.
As the customer demand for higher speeds increases, FLOW has chosen the smartest and fastest solution, which is the roll out of fibre to the home and business.
FLOW had an existing fibre footprint in Cayman Brac, allowing for fibre speeds to be available in all schools including UCCI, Government Administration Building, Public Works, Credit Union, CNB, Charles Kirkconnell Airport, Golden Sun and Faith Hospital, with the Alexander Hotel being the newest member of the fibre network. In preparation for the borders reopening, FLOW was also able to complete the installation of fibre to Brac Caribbean and Carib Sands.
“I just wanted to thank you and your crew for all the help with the recent installations at Brac Caribbean and Carib Sands. The new fibre broadband and TV is amazing and is a great upgrade on the old service. We are experiencing very fast speeds and crystal-clear TV,” says Jeff, Manager at Brac Caribbean and Carib Sands.
“As Flow’s Network Engineer for the Sister Islands, but more so, as a Cayman Bracker, I am very excited that we are building out our fibre network, allowing us the ability to offer fibre services directly to our customers’ homes and business,” says Twayne Foster. “This is a huge step forward in reliability, speed and performance!”
FLOW is now continuing their work of expanding the fibre footprint, with the southwest side of Cayman Brac being built. This new build will convert homes and businesses in this area to the fibre network, allowing for customers to increase their broadband speeds and improve their connectivity.
Residential customer Rodney Dixon expresses his excitement, “Flow fibre has completely changed my ability to consume digital media. No more video buffering or dropped connections. The Flow fibre upgrades allow for fast speed, along with relatively low pricing, and customer-friendly service, making Flow the best Cayman internet service provider.”
Last year, Flow spent over $5 million on network enhancements and will continue to invest in improvements that will benefit current and future customers. The current fibre footprint will initially be expanded to include all of Grand Cayman and provide significant increase in fibre coverage in the sister islands.
