Cayman Islands in the top 10 Caribbean beaches

Beaches have always been a vacation luxury, especially when it comes to the Caribbean. You will most likely know this from your own first hand experience, if you haven’t had the experience first hand, we have sourced some statistics for you, which shows that finding the perfect beach, is on many holiday agendas.

According to MMGY Global’s 2013 Portrait of American Travellers, nearly one-third (31%) of leisure travellers responded “beach” when surveyed about the primary purpose of one or more trips during the past 12 months. When it comes to the fantasy/ambiance dimensions of a vacation, more than six in 10 people (65 percent) consider a beach experience “extremely or very desirable.”

There are endless stretches of sand and sea in the Caribbean, but like with anything, some beaches are better than others. Some Caribbean beaches are laced with beach vendors, covered in shale or litter and can be over-crowded, so finding the perfect beach in the Caribbean can be harder than you would expect.

A number of travel and lifestyle websites and magazines have carried out surveys to determine the best Caribbean beaches, The Cayman Islands rank within the top 10, here are some results we found:

Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

“This may be the best beach for clients who want a little more action to go along with their beach experience. Besides swimming in the clear blue water, where spotting a friendly stingray is as common as finding a sea shell, this stretch of heaven comes with an array of beach bars, restaurants and shops. For the best snorkeling and diving on Seven Mile Beach, we recommend the Cemetery Reef.”

“Beautiful! Just Beautiful! From the beginning of the area they call SMB (Seven Mile Beach) all the way up to the actual beach itself, you can find everything from restaurants, souvenir shops (loved these) to clothing stores, supermarkets, bars/clubs, hotels and apartments. Its just the place to be whenever you are in the Cayman Islands. The beach itself is amazing. I’ve been here on a few occasions where they were hosting events such as that international volleyball competition. That was a great weekend for me and my friends there. clear blue waters, so clear its almost unbelievable if you haven’t experienced it before.”

“We only went to seven mile to swim. The water is incredible. You can just lay on your back and float, you don’t even have to kick your arms or legs.”
