| Grand Cayman, the largest of the three islands, has an area of about 76 square miles and is approximately 22 miles long with an average width of four miles. Its most striking feature is the shallow, reef-protected lagoon (the North Sound) which has an area of about 35 square miles.Topographically, the island is low-lying with the highest point about 60 feet above sea level.

One of the many attractions on Grand Cayman is Seven Mile Beach (which is not actually seven miles long!). With sand stretching as far as one can see, it is considered by many to be the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean. |

Grand Cayman is also the home of the capital George Town and has some of the finest culinary and tax-free shopping experiences available in the entire Caribbean. |

Grand Cayman is particularly well known for its spectacular diving and snorkelling and the island features many reefs and walls with many sites accessible by swimming from shore. |
